  1. My condolences to the family. My relationship with Randy goes back some 40 years going back to the basketball court. Then as policy reps in fisheries for our respective tribes.
It took off in 97 when we both served on the NWIFC when at the annual meeting that year I was allowed to recognize and honor the Lummi Tribe in their effort in defeating the IRS in the taxation issue of treaty tribes.
It was said that in the years following that time, that one would not had thought that 2 tribes so far apart in the harvest arena would come together to be powerful allies in the fisheries arena.
I will miss Randy and his ability to shoot straight and call BS on issues we both are passionate about for our Salmon Peaple.

Hy’sxw’qe for your dedicated service for your people throughout your life / Thanking the family for sharing your loved one. Much love and respect.

  3. We have both known Randy for a long time through our work in salmon co-management. For a long time I (Teresa) was intimidated by him – he was a strong advocate for tribal fishing, after all. But one day both Randy and I were late for the meeting and sat next to one another along the wall because all the table seats were taken. I had known Randy as a forceful advocate, and that day I learned about Randy the family man and parent, and my impressions were forever changed. Randy will surely be missed in the fisheries co-management community that he helped to define because of his passionate advocacy and the common sense and humor that he brought to the table. Our condolences to the family for this great loss – we will miss you in this world, Randy!
