Obituary

Robert (Bob) Eugene Hardy passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly due to complications from lung surgery, with his family and best friends by his side on July 4, 2015. He was born in Pasco, Washington on April 4, 1951 to Eugene and Clara Hardy. Bob attended schools in the Tri-Cities, before moving with his family to Spokane in 1961. He finished his schooling and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1969.

Following high school, Bob enlisted in the Air National Guard. His assignments were in Spokane and Tacoma. After he retired in 1992, he made his home in Everson, WA where he opened his own business, Fairhaven Post & Parcel, which he owned for 13 years.

Bob was an avid bowler who bowled over 13 perfect (300) games! He received many awards through the years. Anyone who knew Bob knew his passion for bowling. In addition, he loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He always had a fish story! In recent years, he became quite the knife collector, and was passionate about football…involved with over 30 teams in the fantasy football draft.

Bob’s greatest joy was his family and friends. He was an amazing father & husband with a great sense of humor. He had a reputation for being the best guy, buddy, or friend anyone could ever want. Bob had a joke or funny remark for every occasion.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his canine buddy…Nick! He is survived by his wife, Tami, and daughter Ashley; sons Chad (Lindsey) Hardy of Spokane, and Shawn (Trish) Hardy of Spokane, four grandchildren: Sydney Hardy, Levin Hardy, and twins Emma and Noah Hardy; two sisters and one brother, Nancy (Wayne) Rau of Spokane, Myrna Henderson of Billings, MT, Bill (Paula) Hardy of Coon Rapids, MN. In addition, he is survived by two aunts, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #7, 1688 W. Bakerview Rd, Bellingham, WA 98226 .

Bob and family, words cannot condone or express our heart felt sadness. One of our problems with moving away was leaving behind loved ones. I have so many memories and conversations running through my mind and heart. I was just upstairs kissing girls good night and Shallon has a picture of Bob and her at Christmas on her jewelry box. We look around our home and everything from clothes, kitchen gadgets, tools, videos and toys are constant reminders of you all and our times together. Before I found out about Bob’s passing, I was telling our fourth of July party of our past neighbor hood parties. And thanking the new guests for coming and heLping us to be less home sick and keep to some of our traditions. I miss Bob so much. I miss our 67 th Vista house wives club. I miss being able to call Bob anytime if I needed help. I miss us leaving rocks in each others mailboxes as a joke. I miss us talking about the neighbors. I miss working on the road together. I remember when Shallon and I ran over cause she split her thumb open and Bob glued it together. You are our family and took us in as your own. The Christmas and New year’s breakfast, Halloween and planning the stops for the most candy.I am so mad that we spoke before the surgery and that Bob wanted to talk to Mike and we didn’t have the time. I am so thankful foe the conversations I got to have with him before he passed. How he was worried for Tami and Ashley and wanted them taken care of. For being worried that Tami has so much stress and worry.
Thank you Bob for digging through your garage on those summer’s for tarps so the.kids could have a slip and slide. And for volunteering the idea of baby oil. I can’t even count all the times you have helped us out of a jam. The summers you had us visit you camping and having all 4 girls use you as a floatie. When you took my baby girl on vacation with you and introduced her to seafood and ribs! That her first time away from home was spent with you and your family. We love you Bob, Tami and Ashley. We are heRe broken and grieving for you. Thank you for loving us and taking care of us.
