Obituary

Patricia Ann Jones passed away on August 21, 2023. She was born in 1946 in Bellingham and grew up there. She graduated from Bellingham High School and Western Washington University. She married Thomas Jones in 1968 and they were married until her passing (54-years). She worked as a teacher. They lived 33 years on Bainbridge island and later back in Bellingham/Semiahmoo. Pat loved traveling and saw lots of the world. With Tom, she spent 9-years overseas in the Sudan, Taiwan, S. Korea, the Philippines and China. She was a dedicated teacher and principal in these countries. She received a masters in Education from Seattle Pacific and City U. Pat was a care giver for her Aunt Vergie and then her sister (which took a toll on her). She loved art, entertaining, and cooking for family and friends. She spent the winters at their Arizona place and loved living in a small village that is an art town and became friends with artists. She will be missed by many.

      Bob,

  3. Growing up on Bainbridge Island, our childhood was filled with fond memories of Christmas time with Pat and Tom. Pat had this knack for blowing our minds with incredible gifts she hand-picked during their epic adventures overseas. She made us feel like the coolest kids on the block as we would often take these gifted treasures to school for show and tell! She never forgot our birthdays either as we grew up.

The last time we saw Pat was at a ceremony a few years ago where our Dad was inducted into the inaugural class of the Bellingham High School Athletic Hall of Fame. It was such a joy to reunite with her after all those years. Moreover, it meant the world to us that she and Tom were there to show support for our Dad and their longtime high school friend.

Pat was a big part of our childhood. Her loving generosity and thoughtfulness made each one of us feel incredibly special, and we will forever hold dear the precious moments we shared with her.

  4. We have very fond memories of Pat who was a lovely person. We have met her & cousin Tom both in England & Wales plus their beautiful homes in America.
We have known Pat & Tom for many years & have very happy memories of our times spent together. Pat was always very welcoming and of course, a great cook.
We remember Pat with great affection & she will be sorely missed.

  5. My wife Sigmunde and I have very fond memories of Pat. She was a generous person. Years ago, she invited us and my visiting mom to their lovely home in Bellingham for lunch and to show off her elaborate, beautiful Christmas decorations. Almost every time we went for a bite and/or drinks with Pat and Tom, she found some reason why she should pay the bill. I didn’t know her as well as my friend and former colleague Tom, but she was a person that we considered a friend, not the-wife-of-my-friend-Tom.
Tom, we were so sorry when you learned that Pat passed away. Stay strong.
