Obituary

Patricia Ann Jones passed away on August 21, 2023. She was born in 1946 in Bellingham and grew up there. She graduated from Bellingham High School and Western Washington University. She married Thomas Jones in 1968 and they were married until her passing (54-years). She worked as a teacher. They lived 33 years on Bainbridge island and later back in Bellingham/Semiahmoo. Pat loved traveling and saw lots of the world. With Tom, she spent 9-years overseas in the Sudan, Taiwan, S. Korea, the Philippines and China. She was a dedicated teacher and principal in these countries. She received a masters in Education from Seattle Pacific and City U. Pat was a care giver for her Aunt Vergie and then her sister (which took a toll on her). She loved art, entertaining, and cooking for family and friends. She spent the winters at their Arizona place and loved living in a small village that is an art town and became friends with artists. She will be missed by many.

  1. One of a kind.

  2. Pat has left a huge imprint on my life!

  3. A meal made by Pat was a culinary experience. She was an accomplished gardener, decorator and so generous to everyone. Many fun memories of times with Pat and Tom.

  4. I was just getting to know Pat and Tom as I only met Pat when we were very young and then several months ago, here in Seal Beach as they drove many miles to meet for lunch, along with my daughter Tani. It was wonderful to be able to spend some time with them. Aloha Pat…

  5. I am so sorry for your great loss, Tom. A week before Christmas in 1968 you and Pat embarked on your marriage together with an adventurous spirit, working and traveling all over the world. You could set your watch to the love, and loyalty you had for each other for all those years. May the memories of your well-lived life together help you breathe deep again and carry you onward.
I admired Pat on so many counts. She was kind beyond measure, and full of natural warmth. She was a skilled gardener, and generous with her time and talents. Friends and family were lucky recipients on many occasions of Pat’s culinary skills. I have a boatload of memories of Pat that will remain fresh as I will think of her often.
God’s blessings to you, Tom, and to all who knew and loved Pat.

    1. Tom says:

      Thank you
      Tom
