Obituary

Yahzdi Taillon was born Robert Roland Taillon on March 20, 1946 to Gaston and Jeannette Taillon in Bristol, Connecticut. He left us on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. He was 72 years old. He graduated from High School in Burbank, California, and also earned college credits at Los Angeles City College. He taught nuclear weapons handling during his time in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam era. He worked for IBM for many years as a Project Manager for Systems Setup and travelled all over the United States and Canada with them.

He became a proud and productive member of the Bahai Faith many years ago, after which time he had his name legally changed to “Yahzdi”, which he said meant “The man from Yahzd.” He dearly loved the Faith and was an avid teacher –spending many years in the San Francisco area and the past several years in Northwest Washington and British Columbia. He was a humble, interesting, and intelligent man who was loved and respected wherever he went. His passions included food and cooking, studying people and life, photography, woodworking, fishing, and boats.

He is survived by one brother, Rick; 2 sisters, Sylvia & Lydia, two nieces, 4 nephews, and many extended family members and friends. He is now in a much better place and will be sorely missed by those of us remaining here.

I served on the Texas Baha’i schools commitee with Yahzdi for several years and loved every minute of it. He was an inspiration.
In 2004 I did a sound design demo for Midway games and Yazdhi was my knight in shining armor: http://www.morganstudios.com/Wavelength/KnightVs3Orcs.mp3

  2. Yahzdi passed away 2 months ago on July 25, 2018. He is our best friend, accompanying my husband and me on spiritual growth as a Baha’i.
‘ It has been my honor and my joy to accompany the two of you in service, as it will continue to be as we accompany each other through all the Worlds of God’, per dear Yahzdi.

My dear friend, you are always accompanying us, we will pray for your soul to keep progressing in the Abha Kingdom; and we know you will pray for us too!

    Love you as always!

    Hi Yahzdi,

I know you are very well in the Abha Kingdom up there. Today is the one year anniversary of you going up to the Heaven. I believe you must by busy there, doing the jobs assigned to you by God. We have been communicating with you for you to pray for us up there sometimes when we have difficulties in our lives, since you must have big praying powers. Of course, we will keep praying for your soul to progress closer and closer to God.

Tonight’s fireside will be dedicated to your name.

    Love you as always,

    Dear Yahzdi,

It is now 2 years you went to the Abha Kingdom. You are always among us, helping us and we love you as always, certainly you know that. Often, we look at your photo on our desk. And you have seen how many changes now happening in Richmond community and in the friends in the community and in Canada. You are a part of our community, and you made contributions to bring about all these changes. Prayers are said for your soul’s progress, as always.

    Love you!
