Obituary

Wanda Haveman entered into eternal rest with her heavenly Father after serving Him faithfully for 96 yrs. Her dedication to her family, her church and to causes that supported others are examples of her faith in God.

Wanda was born in Lynden to Henry & Maggie (Dyk) Haveman. She lived with them during their lifetime and cared for her mother in her later years. She graduated from Lynden Christian School (grade 8) in 1931 and from Lynden High School in 1935. She worked for 33 years at Peoples Bank as cashier and has been retired for 34 years. In retirement, she volunteered at Lynden Christian School Cash for Trash, the Hope Chest, Second Church quilting group (which she enjoyed so much), and the church library, was bookkeeper for the church for many years, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Dorothea Bible study group. Wanda took many trips with her friends and shared them with family and friends by pictures.

  1. On behalf of my mother, Jennie Koster, we want to offer our condolences to Wanda’s family. As a high school classmate of my mother she will be remembered, and I, John, personally will remember her beautiful smile at People’s Bank when I was growing up in Lynden.

  2. Mary Sealund says:

To Wanda’s entire family, Sending you my Sympathy. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. She was such a special lady, and will be missed by many. May God keep you all in His loving arms through this time of sorrow.

  3. So glad we were able to visit with Sis just last month, even though she could not converse at length, we were able to include her in our conversation & memories. So many good memories of our visits to her. She will be missed. Wish we could be there to celebrate her life with all the others.

  4. You will be missed, but the memories will live on.

  5. Margaret and I really enjoyed sitting around the table with Sis, Dolly, and Girl last year when we were in Lynden. It seems as though our trips there were too few and too short. She will be missed and we too wish we could be there to celebrate her life with everyone. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the rest of her family and friends.
