Obituary

Wallace Pfaff, age 75, passed away in Bellingham on Wednesday February 27. Wallace, our dad & grandpa “Wally,” our uncle and dearest friend Wimpy” was born on October 12, 1937 in Silverton OR.
What a loving, caring, funny, quiet guy. He loved hunting, fishing, playing & watching golf, and simply hanging out with the family. In his early life as a navy boy in the service, he found the true love of his life and married Darlene Carter in Las Vegas, NV in 1959. Together through the years they enjoyed many miles of camping, road trips, and quad rides through the mountains. They made their home in Acme, WA and raised a family. Wimpy worked at Intalco Aluminum Corp, retired in 1992, and moved to Whitehall, Montana. He loved Montana, so he decided to explore different areas, finding a place that he really called “Home” in Eureka, MT where he met the best neighbors anyone could ever have and some other very close friends. Wimpy spent many hours of hunting and fishing and just visiting with all the locals. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and FOE.
Wimpy is preceded in death by his wonderful wife Darlene,
his parents, nephew Danny, and niece Ellen.
Wimpy is survived by his sons; Randy (Tara) Pfaff of Montana, Chuck (Joan) Pfaff of Washington, daughter Jenial Pilkey of Iowa,
brother Robert Pfaff and his children; Pam, Connie, Debbie, Robyn, and Bobby, of California, grandchildren; Kelsie, Judy, and Robert. He is also survived by the very dear Carter Clan; Vera, Rob, David, Jay, Penny, Jamie, Becky, Mary, special cousins Jim & Lou, Shannan & Austin, special friends; Gary & Linda, Bart and Marcie, great grandchildren; Lonnie and Zane, and numerous extended family and friends.
Wally(Wimpy) will be greatly missed!!!!

I am saddened to read about Wally’s passing. While most of my memories of Grandpa Wally were from a time long past, I hold on to them closely. I’m so thankful I got to meet the Pfaff and the Carter families a few summers back. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jason Hagin

Wally and I worked together and Darlene,Wally,Grace and I spent many happy hours socializing. He was a great friend. I will miss his humor and just being a good friend. Sadly there are not enough people like Wally.

  5. Our time down here in Mt. started with Wally. We Canadians decided to buy a small piece of land down here, because of the open space, beautiful country and most of all the friendly down to earth people. So we bought on Carpenter lake. Didn`t know anybody, we were just sitting there beside our camper in front of our fire havin a beer and this big old lumberin unshaved guy comes over, introduces himself and welcomes us to the neighbour hood. We said hello and asked if he wanted a beer, and that was the beggining of all our friendships developed here. For the whole time he lived here with us he showed us everything about the area and more. We had a ritual every Fri. or Sat. nite to go to Jerry`s Saloon for Mexican or Prime Rib, he drove it was just the way it was. He took us gold panning in Libby, we went quading in the West Kootenai, we went fishing.
Well there is just so much to say and remember. Wally, there are no words to say how much we miss you. You have left a huge hole that cannot possibly be filled anytime soon.

We will meet again, be sure of that Buddy. Your very good friends Don & Janet
