Obituary

Steve Erickson – loving husband, father, brother, papa, and friend to many – passed away February 9, 2018 at the age of seventy-one. Steve was born on August 17, 1946 to Bob & Evelyn Erickson in Bellingham, WA. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1964 and married Donna Murray on August 9, 1969. For 48 years he was the owner of K&E Moving & Storage.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents and brother Rick Erickson. He is survived by his wife Donna, son Collin (Amy) Erickson, daughter Kim (Terry) Caetano, grandkids Alana & Logan Erickson, Reece & Fredy Caetano, sister Linda (Keith) Ostrander, and nephew Ben Ostrander.

Steve was a big man with a kind heart. His family and friends were the things he cherished the most in life. He was an avid Starbucks coffee drinker, UW Husky fan, member of the Bellingham Central Lions Club, Bellingham Executive Club, and past member of the Army National Guard. His favorite pastime was napping in his Lazyboy recliner while watching football through his eyelids. You could find him in the morning at Starbucks drinking coffee with his compadres, trying to solve the problems of the world without much success. He will always be remembered for his ability to make people laugh in every situation. When you left him, he would tell you, “Be good” instead of goodbye.

After retirement, Steve volunteered at the Lions Club Wheelchair Warehouse. Donations can be made to the Bellingham Central Lions Club – PO Box 602 Bellingham, WA 98227.

An open house to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 1:00-6:00pm at Fox Hall – 3985 Bennett Dr. Bellingham.
