Obituary

Robert Lee Kohlbush, “Bob”, age 86, passed away at Christian Healthcare Center (CHCC), Lynden, WA, on Friday, May 20, 2016. He was born October 21, 1929, in Long Beach, CA, to Harry Benjamin Kohlbush and Velma (Lewis) Kohlbush. Bob graduated from Anaheim High School in 1947, and was a Marine from 1951-1953. On August 19, 1961, he married Macha “Joy” Grannis.

They were married for over 49 years, when Joy passed in 2010. They had two children and lived in Bakersfield, CA, for over 30 years, where he worked as a petroleum/gas engineer.

In 1998, Bob and Joy moved to Lynden, WA, where Bob delighted in owning a family hobby farm and continuing some of his many passions, which included airplanes(real and model), vehicles, boats, hunting, horses, and getting together with family and friends. “Boppy”, as his family lovingly called him, will be greatly missed by his son Scott Kohlbush, his daughter Melinda “Mindy” Weese, their spouses, six beloved grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many special friends and caregivers.

A big “Thank You” goes out to the CHCC for caring for Bob. He loved all the hard working people that became “family” during his stay.
