Obituary

Richard “Rick” Schwarze, age 62, passed away in Bellingham on August 15, 2017. He was born in Bellingham on June 7, 1955. Always happy go lucky and ready to lend a helping hand, Richard gathered a lot of friends and never made an enemy. He was a Jack-Of-All-Trades with a solid work ethic and perfectionist tendencies, which made him a valued team member at his many jobs. He primarily worked for Ershigs Inc. where he got to travel the world as he worked, and for Hollander Investments as the best maintenance painter they had. In his spare time Richard loved to fish, garden, and spend time with animals, especially his favorite cat Smiley. Richard loved animals so much he grew sunflowers just so the squirrels would come eat the seeds. Richard is survived by his mother Marian Law, brother Dennis Schwarze, and nephew Eli Loewen-Schwarze. At his request, there will be no services. In Richard’s own words, “It is what it is.”
