Obituary

Vernon Duim passed away at home on April 18, 2017 surrounded by his family. Vernon was born to Riekus and Maggie Duim in Sequim, Washington on January 10, 1936. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1963, spending most of his enlistment in Germany. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and taking care of his large yard.

He is survived by Mary (Markhart), his wife of 54 years, his children Brian, Bruce (Karen) and Carolyn (Bobby). Granddaughters Christina and Miranda. He is preceded in death by his brother Gerald Duim and his Grandson Christopher.

Memorials can be made to Whatcom Hospice. Graveside services will be held on May 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Greenacres Memorial Park, Ferndale.
