Obituary
During the early morning hours of Sunday February 3, 2013, while sleeping in her bed, Peggy Linn went home to be with the Lord. She was 69.
Peggy was born August 16, 1943 in Anacortes, WA to Earl and Peggy Linn. The family moved to Bellingham soon after. She lived the majority of her life in Whatcom County.
A hard worker from an early age, she valued her many opportunities with employment, including being a housewife and mother, meter maid, hair dresser, longshoreman, and a crew member for Washington State Ferries. By obtaining her Merchant Marine certificate, she was able to work as a cook on ships for Arco and Crowley Intl.
In her later years, she thrived on her volunteer work. She cut inmates hair in Canada through the B.C. Prison ministries, ministered to the elderly in convalescent homes with her dog Bear, and volunteered as a tour guide in Ferndale at the Hovander Homestead.
Of all her volunteering, her passion was her work in Mexico where, over the years, she devoted her love and time to providing basic needs to the Tarahumara Indians.
Peggy is survived by daughter Teri, son Rob, foster daughter Amanda, sisters Sherry and Tammy, brother Earl, 8 grandchildren, 3 foster grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and her beloved Pomeranians. She will be deeply missed.
Farewell Tribute Information
A memorial service for Peggy Ann Linn of Ferndale will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 3:00PM at Freedom Church 7011 Hannegan Road, Lynden; mile North of the East Pole Road (Green VFW Hall). Pastor Dan Cook will be officiating.

To Terri and Robbie, You were young when our families spent time together playing, camping, learning together. My heart is with you in the loss of your wonderful mother. Peggy and I had so many amazing adventures together throughout the years starting when she and Sherry came to Larrabee school and continuing well into our adult lives. I think so fondly of our many deep sharings and experiences as best friends. It saddens me to realize she no longer walks on the earth and that you no longer have your mother in your daily physical lives though of course she is still with you-her beautiful spirit. And thank you for the memorial, the pictures, the words that described her life well lived. So lovely to remember. And to Tami, Sherry, Earl and all her extended family, my thoughts and prays are with you in your loss. With love and caring for all, Diane

So… we played Dungeon Man? That sounds familiar. I thought it was called Hide and Go Boo! I guess that is because I was the youngest and never really figured out what was going on! Ha! I agree, reflecting on Aunt Peggy’s life, it is lovely to see the generous and giving nature she had, and interesting to realize it a strong trait common to many in the Linn clan. How nice to reflect on such a warm thought!

To all of you who loved my sister, Peggy; Bless you and thank you for your love, support and notes during this time of grieving by her loved ones. Peggy was my sister by birth but my surrogate mother by circumstance. She was just shy of 17 years old when I was born. When my mama past away in 1968 I moved in with Paggy, Jack, Terri and Robby. I lived with them for many years thereafter. Peggy was a huge part of my life and I miss her deeply. I know she is now in Heaven with Our Lord. She loved Him so very much and always attributed everything to Him saying, “it’s all God.” Oh how I miss her! I look forward to seeing her again one day.

Reading about Aunt Peggy Ann’s life makes me think of a time when I was a young teen and Aunt Sherry mentioned that I reminded her of her sister Peggy because I just seemed to like everyone and be able to talk to them. She told me stories about how friendly Aunt Peggy was and how she always made a special point to talk to people who were different. Aunt Peggy Ann had always been my aunt with the big houses that were so great for playing dungeon man with my cousins, and the one who tolerated us showing up in the middle of the night. Seeing her many activities on behalf of the less fortunate and remembering what Aunt Sherry said makes me realize what a giving person she was for her whole life and how much she celebrated diversity. Certainly a family trait to be proud of. You were a beautiful lady Aunt Peggy Ann and you have left us some wonderful memories, as well as your children, grandchildren, and great grand children that will ensure there are “Linns” around for years to come.

Rest in Peace, Aunt Peggy! My sympathies to all who loved Peggy and were blessed by her life. I loved looking at the photos here… is the one in front of the fireplace Peggy with Tammy and Teri and Rob? I am amazed at the family resemblance between siblings Peggy and Sherry, also Tammy and Earl. What a good-looking group! I remember playing Hide and Go Boo with my cousins at Aunt Peggy’s house. May the God of all comfort minister to your hearts at this difficult time. We can face uncertain days because HE lives.
