  2. I have often thought of my dear friend/customer Matt. I wondered how he was doing ..I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. He was truly a wonderful man. So many evenings after work Matt would drop by the Custer Store to pick up his favorite beer and stay for a few minutes to talk with me. He had a keen sense of humor -although very shy and reserved. I always learned something new when we talked over the counter. His folks were customers of my late husband, Bill’s motel in Anacortes when they went over to their place on the Islands. It was always a pleasure seeing them in my store.
You all have my deepest condolences over the loss of a very fine man and all around good guy.
I put my e-mail address in this so that you can contact me at any time. I miss Custer; the Store and all my friends and customers.
    God Bless,

I’m so sorry to read of Matt’s passing. I worked with him at Alderwood Park Convalescent Center a few years ago as his speech therapist and really enjoyed his humor and smiles. I’m glad he is at peace and at home with his parents once again…
