Obituary

Mary Ann Fisher (80), loving wife of the late Fred Fisher, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. She was born to Edith Austad and Harry Nelson on December 29th, 1943 in Bellingham, WA. Mary Ann attended Bellingham High School before nurturing her family as a devoted homemaker.

Mary Ann’s marriage to Fred was a cherished union, sealed in Bellingham, WA. Together, they shared countless joys, including her pastime of dancing around the house to the tune of “My Sharona.” She was predeceased by Fred in October 2009.

Everyone was touched by her warmth and affection. Mary Ann was known for her nurturing and giving nature, always putting her family first. She had a keen eye for the beauty of nature, often marveling at the “big white puffy clouds” wherever she went.

Mary Ann found joy in simple pleasures, such as gardening, canning, and camping. She loved the slot machines, country music filling the air, and lively games of dice. Her laughter, patience, and kindness were clear to all who knew her. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by her children Ken Shelley, Susan Grady, and Debra Hughes, along with her grandchildren Jessica Shelley, Stephanie Francisco, Tiffany Hughes, Donnie Hughes, and Nicole Grady. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Kayson, Lilly, and Nico, as well as her nieces and nephews Andrea Willett-Horine and Michael Bates.

She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Fisher, her mother Edith Austad, her stepfather Arnold Austad, her father Harry Nelson, and her brother Ken Nelson.

All who knew her will miss her. They are invited to attend the celebration of life at Moles Farewell Tributes – Greenacres Memorial Park on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at 12 pm. A graveside service will be after the celebration, with a reception to follow.
