Obituary

Linda Marie Stenvers was born in Bellingham on September 5, 1945 to Lars and Margaret (Larsen) Pedersen. After her graduation from Bellingham High School and Shaw Secretarial School, Linda married Curt Stenvers and together they shared 54 wonderful years. They lived on the Van Wyck Road for 41 years in the home they built.

Linda was a devoted shopper, an avid gardener, and an incredible interior decorator. Her home and gardens closely resemble magazine covers. A phenomenal baker, Linda created wedding and birthday cakes, and was famous for her shortbread cookies and peanut butter balls. At Christmas, she would have a tree in every room in the house, and would decorate beautifully for every season. She was also member of the Steiff Teddy Bear Club and of Boyd’s Bear Club. Linda worked for American Greeting Card and did flower delivery for local florists. She also worked at a Post Office Sub Station. During the holiday season, she and her friend would paint Christmas windows on local businesses. She and her husband enjoyed snowmobiling in McCall, Idaho, Alaskan cruises, and touring Washington DC along the east coast.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Lars and Margaret Pedersen; and brother, Myron Pedersen.

Survivors include her husband, Curt Stenvers; daughters, Kim (Kevin) Weatherill and Carrie (Bill) Caldwell; son, John (Danielle) Stenvers; grandchildren, Hillary (Matthew) Vaughn, Mitchell Weatherill, Hanna Weatherill, Colton Stenvers, Kaitlyn Stenvers, Mackenzie Caldwell, and Jackson Caldwell; sister, Lee Ellen Christofferson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. She was the best grandma that anyone could ever wish for.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s name to the Whatcom Hospice House (2901 Squalicum Parkway Bellingham 98225).

A reception celebrating Linda’s life will take place on Friday, August 18 at 11:00am at Moles Farewell Tributes Greenacres (5700 NW Dr. Ferndale).

Dear Linda’s Family, We are sorry to hear of your loss of your loved one… Linda. We have fond memories of her as the happy & inquisitive gardener who visited us often at Bakerview Nursery & Garden Center. Her talents in creating wonderful gardens and her quest for knowledge of anything plant related was infectious to anyone within ear shot. We loved to see her and hear of what new thing she was creating. There wasn’t many plant/garden related gatherings where we didn’t see her and converse about our favorite plants and trees.
Linda was a great gift to our community and we are honored to have met her, shared our love of horticulture and exchanged gardening information. She will be greatly missed.
May Peace surround you as you remember the happy times together.
    Sincerely,
    Larry & Toni Clark
