Obituary

Resident of Blaine, WA.

Kalman ‘Papa’ Mozes, 80, went to be with the Lord on January 2nd, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (Rexford) Mozes.

Kalman was born in Mocsa, Hungary to Kalman and Julianna (Darazsi) Mozes on October 8th, 1933. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 where he continued his calling as a union Ironworker. His work took him throughout the United States and Canada before he eventually planted his roots in Blaine, WA with his wife and three children. His greatest joys were spending time in his orchard and gardens, making wine, and watching his family enjoy the fruits of his labor.

He is survived by his eldest son, Kalman Mozes(Sonya) and daughters, Karen Armstrong (Charles) and Kathy Mozes-Allen (Robert), as well as grandchildren; Braidon (Holly), Kelsey, Elijah, Lily, Jacob, Zachary, Katrice, Peiton, and Priya.

Farewell Tribute Information

A viewing is scheduled from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 9th.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10th at 11am at Greenacres Memorial Park & Cemetery, 5700 Northwest Dr, Ferndale WA with a reception to follow.

A celebration of life will take place at the Hungarian Reformed Church of Vancouver, 900 E 19th Ave, Vancouver BC on Saturday, January 11th at 11am. Donations Information

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
