  1. Sending my deepest condolences to the Reed family. I was in Camp Fire and went to CF Day Camp at Whatcom Falls Park in the late ’60’s and early ’70’s as a day camper. Mrs. Reed made day camp so much fun! Loved it so much that I became an day camp aide when I got into high school even though I wasn’t in Camp Fire anymore. Our group broke up at the end of 8th grade. I loved working with Mrs. Reed and all of the other wonderful ladies that worked so hard on day camp. It was such wonderful experience, learning to light a fire with only 1 match, making bean hole beans, cooking over the fire. The week always flew by! Later in life I kept up with Joanne through my Mom and the CF Alumni Group. Always enjoy seeing her! I know her later years were hard and I saw her whenever I visited my mother-in-law at the same home. I would search out Joanne and say hi. All I had to say was I was a Camp Fire girl and would be rewarded with her bright smile. Joanne was a very special lady and I will always remember her fondly.
    Regards,

  2. To my Second Mother, whom I have loved & cherished from the day you took me in. You provided love, consoled me, in times of pain from my own abusive home situation/a refuge. You have given me so much, from example of being a strong independent woman, a leader, & all the good times of camping, beach combing, teaching respect for our God given lives whether it was for people or critters. You will always walk w/me on the beach & bring smiles to my thoughts. Until the Annie-Annie Over, when I meet you on the beach of heaven, you will always be in my heart. I love you, Bernida. Daughter #2

    Dear Roy and Family,
With sincere sympathy on the passing of Joann
Joann and I were in Priscillas Circle together. When I was new she made me very welcome. I loved the way she planned our Christmas party. Joann made it a very festive occassion with her Christmas story and the hand made decoration she had for each of us every year. A nice addition to my collection.

I was priveledged to be invited to your Golden Wedding celebration. It was a very special party and so nice to meet Roy and Joann’s daughter.

May your fond memories comfort you.

    Helen McLeod
