Obituary

James Jim Benton Elliott, age 68, passed away peacefully June14, 2013 with his wife Patti by his side. He was born February 28, 1945 in Glendale California. Jim served in the US Navy before settling in Ferndale to raise his family by working for Intalco Aluminum until his retirement in 2001.

Jim was a public servant for his community where he was actively involved. The areas he share of himself were: volunteered many years with the United Way, “Man of the Year” for the city of Ferndale in 2000, being appointed to the Ferndale City Council, board member for Red Cross, a team member for “Cert” Community Emergency Response Team, former Lions Club president, board member for “Animals as Natural Therapy”, president of the Heritage Society, and a member of the Ferndale chapter of the American Legion.

Jim and his wife attended Christ the King Church in Bellingham. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife Patti, who just celebrated 48 years of marriage, his daughter Becky O’Grady, daughter Gabrielle Bergmann, son-in-law Daniel Bergmann, 2 grandchildren Tianna and Trevor, and numerous loving relatives.

Services will be held on Friday June 21st at 11:00 AM at Greenacres Memorial Park Chapel. Donations Information

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Chelsea Ebert Scholarship Fund www.chelseyebert.com or the Ferndale Lions Club.

  3. Today is his birthday and it came up on my FB page….I have know he passed and was very saddened. Only just today found this place to leave my condolences Aunt Patti.
