Obituary
Guluzar Kahraman Miller, age 82, passed away August 9, 2014 in Bellingham, WA. She was born in Erzincan Turkey June 10, 1932. In 1962 she married Otis Lee Miller which made headline news in the local Turkish newspaper. They were stationed in Turkey for a short time before being stationed in the United States, back to Turkey, and then permanently to the United States in 1968.
She lived for many years in Tacoma, WA before moving to Bellingham in 2009. The last three years she lived with her niece, Nuran Ucluok and her husband Cem Ucluok, in Munich Germany, and they loved her like a second mother. She has two other nieces in Munich, Sukran Mersinlioglu and Turkan Buyukakyol, whom she was very close to. Her nieces remember her as an aunt who helped provide for their family. They have memories of Guluzar taking them to get their hair done and buying them pretty dresses. Guluzar moved back to the United States July 16, 2014 to be near her children.
She is survived by her sister Elif Ergun and brother Nuri Kahraman in Erzincan Turkey, nephews Ismail Ergun, Gultek Kahraman in Turkey, Ayfer Kahraman, and many other nieces and nephews in Turkey, Germany, and Switzerland.
She is survived by her children Dr. Emel Agan of Bellingham, WA, Kenan Miller of Des Moines Iowa, Selma Ireland of Bellingham, WA, and Kemal Miller of Tacoma, WA. She has numerous grand children and great grand children including, Jonathan Miller, Timothy Ireland, Rashell Ireland, Kreshawndra Davidson, Dominique Miller, Malique Miller, Isaiah Miller, and Trysten Miller. She will be very missed by two of her closest friends, Margie Flink and Sally Yeager of Bellingham, WA. Friends Noel Haggen, Carol and Frank Williams, and Dolly, who know her as “Mrs. Miller,” will also miss her.
Farewell Tribute Information
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Moles Farewell Tributes, 2465 Lakeway Drive, Bellingham, WA. Private viewing for the family will be at 12:00PM followed by a Funeral Service for all at 1:00PM. Directly following the Funeral Service will be a Graveside Service at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, WA.
