Edna Marie Fast
Edna Marie Fast passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 92. Edna was born on July 28, 1920, to Isaak and Mary (Franz) Bergmann, at home near Corn, OK. Her sister, Selma Bergmann, of Oklahoma City, OK, predeceased her in March 2012.
Edna grew up on her parents farm near Corn, OK. She worked hard both inside and out, cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, doing embroidery all things she enjoyed throughout her life. She learned to hitch and drive the horse teams, and later drove the tractor, always her fathers assistant.
Edna graduated from the Corn Bible Academy, and attended South West State College in Weatherford, OK, learning skills she used while working for the Washita County Enterprise newspaper.
Edna married Edwin J. Fast of Birch Bay, WA on December 17, 1963 in Corn, OK. She moved to Birch Bay and became mom to a family of four sons. After many happy years together, Edwin predeceased Edna on December 15, 2001, two days short of their 38th anniversary.
Edna was a member of the Birch Bay Bible Community Church, and with Edwin, served many years as deacons. She participated in Bible Study Fellowship, and the ladies sewing circle.
Edna is predeceased by two sons, Elden J. Fast and Stanley D. Fast. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Ronald G. and Joann Fast (Fresno, CA), and Marvin D. and Lynn Fast (Ferndale, WA), daughter-in-laws Sharon Ewert (Clovis, CA), and Reva Fast (Clovis, CA); 11 grandchildren: Michele Dau, Julie Sandoval, Pamela Fast, Michael Fast, Jason Fast, Milena Burrus, Nathan Fast, Cambria Fast, Lara Fast, Eric Fast, and Megan Rodrick; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Farewell Tribute Information
Graveside service for Edna will be at 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2013 at Enterprise Cemetery, followed by a 3:00 p.m. memorial service at Birch Bay Bible Community Church, 4460 Bay Road, Blaine, WA. Donations Information

Our Dear Grandma/Mom, It is so often that my sisters, cousins and I remember our wonderful childhood that you were such a great part of! I often think of others who were less fortunate in their lives, and wish that they too could have had such a wonderful grandma as you. It was interesting and moving to read the tribute to Edna Fast, my namesake.Although I am Jewish, “slightly” younger and live on the other side of the world (Tel Aiv, Israel) it was mind boggling to know that in this whole wide world there was another woman bearing the same name as mine.
I would be very interested din getting information on the source of the Fast family name so if you know anything about it, I would be grateful if you could share it with me.
