Duane Erhard

Duane D. Erhard died on June 18, 2013 at 88 years of age. He was born on Oct. 26, 1924 in Ridgway, PA to Suzie & Wilbur Erhard.

Following graduation, Duane entered the Navy where he served 4 years. Upon returning home he met and married Dorothy Evelyn Miller in 1947. They had 3 children. Duane was employed by the government as an engineer technician at Picatiny Arsenal in Dover, NJ where he worked for 36 years until his retirement in 1983. Duane was a member of Bethlehem Church in Randolph, NJ where he served young boys as a Captain in the Christian Service Brigade for 10 years.

Duane and Dorothy moved to Mt. Vernon, WA in 1990 where they were members at Bethany Covenant Church; and then moved to Ferndale, WA in 2000 and worshiped at Bellingham Covenant Church. Duane was gifted at pen & ink drawings and wood carving.

Duane is survived by his wife Dorothy of 66 years; brothers William Erhard and John Erhard; daughter Kathleen (Paul) Adams of Renton, WA; son Wilbur Duane (Nancy) Erhard of NY State; and Colleen (Dave) Miller of Ferndale, WA; seven grandchildren and spouses; and 13 great grandchildren.

Farewell Tribute Information

A service for the family will be held July 6, 2013 at Moles Greenacres on Northwest Ave, Ferndale, WA. A Memorial Service to celebrate Duanes life will be held at Bellingham Covenant Church, 1530 E. Bakerview Rd., Bellingham, WA, on July 6th at 2:30pm. Friends and family are all invited.
