Loving father, partner, son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend, Danny Cunniff passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the age of 26. Our hearts are broken by his sudden loss.

Danny is survived by his loving girlfriend Briana Ellyson, their sweet baby daughter Mya Cunniff, and Briana’s beautiful daughter Emily Pajnogac; his parents Murray and Cathleen Cunniff; three brothers Terence Cunniff, Ryan Cunniff and Patrick LeQuire; his grandmother Marie Cunniffe; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, John P. Cunniffe II, Patrick J. O’Donnell and Mary E. O’Donnell.

Danny worked at Bellingham Cold Storage as a team lead forklift driver. He enjoyed spending time with Briana and the girls, family gatherings, hanging out with friends, eating Mexican food and watching the Seattle Seahawks. He had recently taken up cooking and grilling, and was becoming an excellent cook.

This year brought intense joy to Danny and also great hardships. With the state of our world and community, many are struggling. If you need help, please reach out. Do not face it alone.  Please talk to someone in your family, a friend, a counselor or doctor. Or call the Care Crisis Line (24 hours): 800–584-3578.

With the funeral service being restricted because of COVID-19, memories and photos will be appreciated on his Facebook page. The family requests that any donations go to the Mya E. Cunniff education fund. Make checks or money orders out to “Mya E. Cunniff, minor” and send to Key Bank P.O. Box #340 Oak Harbor, WA 98277.

Danny will be laid to rest at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham, Washington.

Living in Michigan, we didn’t get to see Danny very often, but our family will always remember him as fun loving, quiet and sweet.

  3. Terri says:

Murray, Cayte Terry, Ryan, Patrick and Marie and Briana, Mya and Emily. I am so very sorry for your loss. Danny was such a vibrant spirit, loving, caring, authentic and fun. I have loved watching him and the boys grow up, marking increments of growth on Aunt Janet’s legendary doorjamb, jumping on the trampoline, as well as all the holiday gatherings, giving us a chance to see their growth from year to year. I will miss his gentle spirit and am sorry that Mya will not have him in her life to love and guide her. She will have the strong and loving support of her mom, sister and that wonderful Cunniffe clan to put their arms around her.

All our love, Terri, Phil, Chelsea and Riley

  4. Karin Leslie says:

I will drop by St. Andrews and light a candle for Danny that he find peace and one for the family to find answers to your endless questions. Remember that the lesson is always there, even in the darkest tragedy. Hugs around
