Obituary

Annette Blanche White (Lareau) was born on November 10, 1935, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Roland Henry Lareau and Blanche Annette Lareau (Pelletier).

Annette was raised surrounded by many relatives in her early years. Her Grandparents immigrated from Quebec. Annette’s first language was French and later she learned English in school. While her dad was in the Navy the family relocated to San Diego where she attended High School. She had many close friends in her all-girls Catholic High School who knew her as “Dinky” due to her small stature. She stayed in touch with many classmates and attended her 50-year class reunion. After High School, while attending community college she met her future husband Dan who was serving in the Navy. They were married in San Diego and Dan was transferred to Japan. Several months later Annette joined Dan in Japan where they lived for several years.

Through Annette and Dan’s marriage, they would move multiple times both in the States and overseas. From California, Japan, Oregon, Bahamas, Texas, and Saudi Arabia, Annette always identified opportunities to be active in her community and build friendships. She remained in contact for years with many of those she met.  She was active in her church and community. Annette was active in the PTA, volunteering for Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls, and supporting her family. Annette also had a career as a dental assistant and ran an in-house daycare.

While in Saudi Arabia, Annette and Dan were there during Desert Storm and volunteered for the USO. Annette would describe the role the military had in her life and spoke with fondness of the frequent moves and camaraderie she experienced in a military family.

They retired to Everson, WA, and lived on a small farm. They continued to travel in their RV to see family and friends across the country. She loved traveling and was always ready for another trip. She would often recount all the times she had moved and the places she had visited.

Annette was a very warm, hospitable, and comforting person to be around. She always had time for people and a rocking chair available. She loved being with her family, had a deep faith in Jesus, was open, engaging, and wanted to be friends with everyone.  Looking at her address book the number of people she corresponded with and kept in contact with says a lot.
