Obituary

Anna Lou Parker of Ferndale passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was born in 1933 in Bellingham, WA to Ralph and Oma Little. In 1955, she married John Parker and they raised 5 children in Bellingham before moving to Ferndale in 1989.

Anna worked for many years for the Bellingham School District in the Food Service Department at various schools. She was the Cafeteria Manager at Sehome High School for many years and retired as the Cafeteria Manager at Bellingham High School.

After retiring, Anna filled her time volunteering many hours at the Ferndale Senior Center, the local chapter of the American Diabetes Assn and babysitting her many grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and cooking. Everyone will miss her wonderful holiday meals and especially the Christmas candy she so generously shared with everyone.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband John, grandson Andrew and sister, Lucella.

She is survived by her children, Linda of Fairbanks, AK, Susan, Dave and Jayne of Bellingham and Doug of Sedro Woolley. She also has 7 grandchildren: Shaun, Shara, Jonathan, Natali, Jason, Sophia and Graeme and one great- grandchild, Gideon. She is also survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Please join Anna’s family for an open house celebration of her life on Saturday, February 20th from 1pm to 4pm at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, 355 Harris Ave. Bellingham.

Donations can be made in her honor to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation or The Alzheimer’s Society of Washington.
