Obituary

Macklen passed away at home in his parents loving arms on February 8, 2017 after a 1 year courageous battle against Neuroblastoma Cancer. He was born on March 28, 2015 in Bellingham to Darin and Shari (Ter Wisscha) Peterson.

Macklen enjoyed being held by his parents and grandparents and cuddling with his stuffed animals, especially Bunny Bun Buns. He loved being pushed in his bike around the house and the halls of the hospital, dancing to music, reading books, car-rides, seeing the big trucks on his many trips to Seattle, and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He was loved by all who met him. Macklen’s gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him including the staff at Seattle Children’s Hospital. With Macklen’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated.
Although we will miss him every day, especially his big smile, dimples and blue eyes, he will forever remain in our hearts.
In addition to his Parents, Macklen is survived by his Brother Brayden Clark, Grandparents Joe and Marlene Peterson and Dale and Marlene Ter Wisscha, Great-Grandma Fran Ter Wisscha, Aunt Kristin Larsen, Uncles Don Peterson, Kevin (Jewel) Ter Wisscha, and Scott (Sidney) Ter Wisscha, cousins Jace, Kenna, Kora, Kowen, Jocelyn, Isla, and Axl.
Macklen joins in heaven his Great-Grandparents Arthur and Lorraine Petersonand Waldo and Imogene Anderson, Pierson and Ann Dykstra, and Gerald Ter Wisscha, Great-Aunts Joan Noteboom and Judy DeMeyer and Great Uncle Mike Olson.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Seattle Children’s Hospital for their incredible care provided. The family appreciates all the prayers extended to us during this time.
Donations can be made at WECU “Donation for Macklen Peterson” which will be used for a Scholarship for Cancer Survivors Graduating High School or donations can be made in memory of Macklen at strongagainstcancer.org.
