Obituary
Dale C McAtee, age 92, passed away peacefully Mon Nov 30, 2015. Born Jan 20, 1923 in Axtell, KS to WM H and Lottie McAtee. Dale was the youngest of twelve siblings. He came out to the PNW with family at age 13 and then graduated from Mt Baker High School. Dale married Leatrice H Schneider before serving in WWII on US Destroyer Welles. Returning to Bellingham in 1952 to serve as a dedicated Shipwright and craftsman, then Marine surveyor in retirement. Dale also served decades at the Bellingham Senior Center. Dale is survived by his current wife Viola M Cooper, son Dale K McAtee and family, daughter Lori O’Grady and family, and many loving family members and friends. Graveside service for family and close friends Sat. Dec. 12 at 1:00 followed by a reception at Moles Farewell Tributes facility, 5700 NW Ave Ferndale. Memorials to Bellingham Senior Activity Center, 315 Halleck St Bellingham.
