Obituary

Mary Jane Moen was born on December 29th, 1926 in Bellingham to Elmer and Amelia (Lindenthal) Moen. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Whatcom Middle School, and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1943. She was a crafter, skilled in ceramics, needlepoint, knitting, and crocheting; a photographer, whose photographs are cherished memories by her family; and a gardener, always planting beautiful flowers. Mary Jane worked at Pacific Northwest Bell for over 30 years as a telephone operator and then an observer. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Virginia Ragan, and her longtime best friend Margaret Nash. Survivors include her nieces and nephews; Linda (Scott) Ruthrauff of Bellingham, Al Ragan of Bellingham, Steve (Peggy) Ragan of Florida, Doug Ragan (her sister, Virginia Ragan’s husband), and numerous great nephews and nieces. At Mary Jane’s request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice Foundation (2901 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham 98225).
