Obituary

Yvonne Rae Glad, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away suddenly on July 17th 2024 at the age of 62 in Ferndale, Washington. She was born in Aberdeen, Maryland on July 3rd 1962 to Karol Burke and Larry Vail.

Yvonne married her loving husband Jeffrey Glad in September 1984. They have been happily married for 39 Years.

Yvonne spent most of her career working for the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. She took great pride in her job and was loved by her colleagues and customers alike.

Throughout her life, Yvonne loved to go fishing, camping, and spend time with her family. She was the glue that held her family together, always organizing family get togethers and holiday celebrations. Her love for her family knew no bounds.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her son, Steven Jeffrey Glad and her Grandparents Kenneth and Marie Burke and Jack and Evelyn Vail.

She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Glad, her father Larry (Carol) Vail, her mother Karol (Jeff) Thompson, her sons Ryan Glad and Jacob (Tanya) Glad, her granddaughter Nylah, her grandsons Ethan and Michael, her sister Yvette (Art) Bailey, her step-siblings Anita, Jeff and Angel Thompson, Vicki LeBret, Richard Platter as well as her nephews Nick and Austin Bailey.

An open viewing will be held on Tuesday July 30th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 5800 Northwest Dr. in Ferndale, Washington at 12pm followed by a 1pm service. The burial will take place at Greenacres Memorial Park following the end of the service. A celebration of life will take place afterwards at 4511 Rural Ave, Bellingham Washington, for those who wish to attend. Yvonne’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and she will be forever missed.

  1. Yvonne was so full of life when we were in high school together. She was fun and loyal to her friends. I am so sorry for her early passing.
