William James "Bill" Przylucki

William James “Bill” Przylucki, 69, of Bellingham, WA, previously of Albany, NY, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, accompanied by his daughter and son-in-law, after a brief illness on January 16. Bill was born in May 1956 in Utica, NY to William and Suzanne (Tanury) Przylucki. He grew up in nearby Yorkville, where he developed a love of athletics and music. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1974. He received an Associate degree from Mohawk Valley Community College, a Bachelor's degree from Upper Division College at Herkimer/Rome/Utica (now SUNY Polytechnic Institute), and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University at Albany School of Social Welfare. For over forty years, Bill worked as an administrator for social service agencies, focusing especially on child welfare agencies. He worked for Catholic Charities of Albany, the Albany Diocese Campaign for Human Development, the Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies, New York State Council on Children & Families, and in 2022 he retired from his position as the Director of Collaborative Solutions for Children & Families for the New York State Council on Children and Families. He also served on the Board of Directors for organizations such as Community Maternity Services and Maternity and Early Childhood Foundation Inc. He was also sometimes an adjunct faculty at the University at Albany School of Social Welfare, and once co-hosted a TV show called “Partners in Faith” with Jerrie-Ann Goewey, where he sported an excellent moustache. Bill was a committed athlete, playing semi-professional football for the Albany Metro Mallers, and numerous decidedly less professional games of baseball, softball, basketball and golf. He also coached and supported little league, ice hockey, football and basketball teams for his children and step-children. Bill also maintained a lifelong love of music and was a performer as well as enthusiastic fan. In his youth he played in the Utica-based rock band Krier, and his musical journey culminated in the classic rock cover group RKX. In between, he was happy to play his acoustic guitar and sing with his many musical friends. He launched the live performance careers of multiple O’Neill brothers on the Pyramid Life Center talent show stage, and his bass guitar is still being played by PLC artist-in-residence Lily Regan. Bill is remembered as having a larger-than-life personality and had a unique gift for making people feel they belonged exactly as they are. He loved easily and without judgment, which made him lovable in return. Bill is survived by his children Bill (spouse Kendall) and Erin (spouse Mike) and their mother Irene, his stepchildren Sam (spouse Ang), Hayden and Zane and their mother Tracy, his grandchildren Willa and Teddy, his sister Beth and brother-in-law Steve, and his nephews Steven (spouse Nicole) and Bryan (spouse Carissa), four grand-nieces and nephews, two step-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members, and friends-as-close-as-family. Memorial Services are being planned for May 16, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul in Albany, NY (900 Madison Ave, Albany, NY 12208).
