Obituary
Terre Moon, passed away on September 17th, 2024, at the age of 70 in Bellingham, WA Surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Terre was born on July 30th, 1954, in Nevada City, Ca. to Charles and Pauline Moon.
Terre was a beloved friend who valued people for who they were, not what they were. She was known for her inclusiveness and advocacy for others. She had an innate ability to make others feel special and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Terre was a true embodiment of grace and class, always bringing joy to those around her.
Some of the most cherished memories of Terre include road trips with her daughter Sharon that were filled with laughter with the spontaneous photo stops and shopping along the way. She could turn ordinary moments into lasting, fun-filled memories. Her sense of humor and love for adventure made every experience with her unforgettable.
Terre loved to travel, read, play board and card games and above all, spend time with her cherished family and friends. Her love for those close to her was evident in everything she did.
Professionally, Terre had a distinguished career. After becoming a CBSA border agent, she taught courses in Rigaud, Quebec. Many of her students fondly remember her as an outstanding instructor who not only took the time to help but also acted as a second mother to many. She later started to work in the Vancouver mail room inspecting letters and packages crossing the border. She ended her career in the Nexus Center in Blaine, WA. She was always proud to wear the uniform and be part of the Law Enforcement family.
Terre is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ackerman of Sedro Woolley, WA, her brother Art (Pat) Moon of Reno, NV, her nephew Joshua (Cindy) Moon of Reno, NV, niece Tasha Moon (Eric) of Bee Cave, TX, nephew Adam (Barbara) Moon of Virginia City, NV, Jessica Moon of Tacoma, WA, as well as numerous cousins and dear friends.

Dear Sharon, Art & Pat and the Moon Family,
There are no truer words written about my dear friend, Terre! She was a one-of-a-kind woman with the purest heart. I can’t express enough my heartfelt gratitude for having known her and call her my friend. My heart and deepest sympathies go out to you all during this very difficult time. I have to leave you with a fond and humorous memory that brings a chuckle to me every time I think about it. It was written that, “ She could turn ordinary moments into lasting, fun-filled memories. Her sense of humor and love for adventure made every experience with her unforgettable.”. This reminded me of the time Terre and I were headed to BMR Lumber in Quebec when she lived out east. We looked up the address in the GPS (before either of us had a smartphone, and navigation was available on a vehicle), and found the store. Why we need to go there, I can’t recall; but like faithful GPS followers, we complied with the directions spoken to us through the little unit. After the last turn, suddenly we heard the voice say: BOARD FERRY. We turned and looked at each other, and broke out into a fit of laughter. Then, we actually *saw* the ferry: a small, 6-car raft of sorts, tethered to a cable that spanned the river we needed to cross to get to the hardware store. We laughed so hard! We did make it to our destination and back without incident, but this little unexpected surprise had us talking and laughing about it for years!
It is moments like this one with Terre that help my heart to smile through the tears and I hope, that in time, your hearts, too, will be able to do the same.
With much love,
Candace
