Obituary

Steven Paul Auld Jr., age 26, of Laurel, passed away on September 25, 2012. His courageous fight with colon cancer ended peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 6, 1985 in Everett, Washington. He was a graduate of Meridian High and attended WSU. At Meridian High Steven was a member of the football and wrestling teams. In wrestling he placed 8th his junior year and 3rd his senior year at the State tournaments. As a senior, #60, a team captain, he helped lead the Trojans to the 2003 State Football Championship where they won the title. He was an avid WSU Cougars fan and played on their rugby team. He was a true outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting, and camping. Steven worked at Olsen Plastering for 6 years.

His family was an important part of his life. He married the girl of his dreams, Whitney Whitmyre, on August 7th, 2011. In addition to his wife, Steven leaves behind his loving family; mother Kim and step-father Raymond Capp, father Steven Auld Sr., his sisters Kassie Carrington (Jason), McKenna and Jaiden Capp, Amber Capp-Woody (Aaron), Megan Auld; his brothers, James Reedy-Capp and Brian Capp; his grandparents, Fred and Judy Capp, Frank and Beverly Sweet; plus several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Steven was preceded in death by his grandfather Bletcher Porter Jr.

Steven had the best group of friends any guy could ever have. They enjoyed fun times together with annual camping trips to Carlton, weekend road trips to Cougar football games, country music concerts, as well as daily email chains about the weeks’ events and crazy “finds” on Craigslist. Steven and the guys of the group enjoyed softball in the spring, fishing in the summer, and hunting in the fall. He will be greatly missed.

Whitney and the family would like to thank their great friends and the community for all their support during this difficult time.
