Stephen John Lemay

Stephen John Lemay went to be with the Lord on April 19th, 2018 in a tragic industrial accident in Fordland, Missouri. He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. His family moved to Rockford Illinois and lived there briefly before moving to Modesto, California when he was five years old. He graduated from Beyer high school in 1980 and went on to Biola University where he achieved a degree in theology with a minor in business. He also met his future wife Carol May Ballard at Biola. They were married shortly after they graduated on June 29th in 1985. Steve began working for Calco Fence Company and also had a small business construction company that he owned. They had two children, a son named Keith and a daughter, Amber. Steve worked for Calco fencing until 1996. In the summer of 1996 the family moved to Lynden, WA where Steve joined the iron workers union and became a tower hand. He worked for Seacomm Erectors for many years before opening his own tower company Steve Lemay LLC in February 2014. In August of 2016 he became a grandfather to Travis DeVries, whom he was exceptionally proud of. Steve greatly enjoyed playing tennis with his many friends at the Semiahmoo Tennis Club and showing God’s love to the orphans in India. Steve is survived by his well-loved family, including: his wife, son, daughter and her husband, grandson, his dad and mom, his three sisters and their husbands, and his brother and his wife. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Steve’s favorite charities via a GoFundMe account, Hope Foundation, Happy Hearts, or to Courtney’s Pumpkin Patch; the account has not been set up yet, but it will be soon. Wiser Lake Road Lynden, WA 98264) at 1pm on Saturday May 5th. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm at Second Christian Reformed Church in Lynden WA (710 Front St Lynden, WA 98264) with a reception to follow.
