Robert E Siguaw

Robert E. "Bob" Siguaw, aged 73, who was born on July 20, 1952, passed away on May 2nd, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Bob was known for his honesty, determination, kindness, and straightforward nature. He was a gifted mechanic, a creative problem-solver, and a self-taught jack-of-all-trades who could build, repair, or figure out just about anything. Bob married Diane P. Young on April 6, 1970, in Auburn, Washington. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and helping others. Throughout his life, Bob took great pride in providing for his family and encouraging them to work hard, continue learning, and enjoy life to the fullest. For 49 years, Bob owned and operated Welcome Hauling. After purchasing his first log truck in 1977, he worked as an independent truck driver hauling logs for Barter and Marr Logging and taking long-haul jobs when needed. In 1994, he expanded the business by purchasing a truck and grain trailers, transitioning into hauling feed commodities. Over the years, the company grew to include additional trucks and drivers, becoming a successful operation built through Bob's determination and strong work ethic. Bob enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout his life. He loved flying his Cessna 172 and was thrilled to return to aviation after many years away from the hobby. He enjoyed boating, fishing, razor clam digging, and spending time camping with his family in the San Juan Islands and lakes throughout Washington. He was always working on a project. Bob enjoyed home repairs and maintenance, helping family members and renters, and improving his property. His loved ones fondly remember the hours spent together, building and furnishing a home in Ocean Shores. Bob spent countless hours working in the yard, tending his vegetable garden, and building things for children and grandchildren, including sandboxes, swimming pools, trampolines, and swings. He was also known for helping create a safe, dry place for kids in the horse community to ride year-round. Technology fascinated Bob. Long before they became common, he built his own boom box and made sure his family had access to the latest gadgets. He enjoyed keeping up with current events, following politics, watching Star Trek, and enthusiastically exploring new technologies, including artificial intelligence. Bob also loved gathering people together. He enjoyed family BBQs, dining out with family and friends, and sharing his lifelong love of tacos. He was famous for insisting on paying the bill. His pantry was always stocked with snacks, candy, and coffee, and his home was open to anyone who stopped by. Bob had a special way of welcoming not only family but also many "stray kids" who found friendship, encouragement, and support through his generosity. Some of the family's favorite memories revolve around Bob's adventures in the kitchen. He worked tirelessly to perfect his homemade bread recipe and became known for making some of the best bread around. Not every culinary experiment was successful, however. Family members still laugh about the birthday cake he accidentally dropped upside down and the holiday fudge that somehow turned into chocolate syrup despite all his stirring. His children fondly remember Saturday mornings when Bob would turn up his giant stereo to wake everyone up with music from Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Madonna, and Heart's "Dog and Butterfly." They remember fishing trips to Baker Lake, where Bob spent more time helping his five children untangle lines, bait hooks, and unhook fish than fishing himself. They remember working beside him in the shop, riding in the log truck during summer breaks, flying with him in his airplane, feeding horses on the property, vacationing in Hawaii, and making lots of coffee runs and trips to Costco! Bob will also be remembered for the small things that meant so much. He faithfully called his children and grandchildren on their birthdays to sing "Happy Birthday." He recorded countless family gatherings on video and made sourdough pancake breakfasts for grandchildren and visiting kids. The Grandkids fondly remember his whipped instant breakfasts and chocolate milk. More than anything, Bob loved his family. He took care of those around him, offered guidance when needed, and showed his love through his actions every day. His generosity, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his wife, Diane Siguaw; partner, Karen Grafwallner; daughters, Debbie Siguaw, Bobbi Kelley, Erin DeRoco, and Gina Mah; son, Rob Siguaw; son-in-law, Clint DeRoco; grandchildren, Kodi Kelley, Kameron Kelley, Kylee Kelley, Kyler Kelley, Kayce Kelley, Kaylyn Wight, Hailey Siguaw, Luke Siguaw, Paige Siguaw, Alyssa DeRoco, and Jadyn DeRoco; great-grandchild, Dawson Kelley; and stepmother, Beverly Siguaw. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Siguaw, and his mother, Doris D. Siguaw. Bob's family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, and a deep commitment to helping others.
