Obituary

Penny Rose Jefferson, age 20, of Bellingham, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019. She was born on August 20, 1998 in Bellingham, to Francis III and Shelley Jefferson. Penny was a Native American Student Advisor at Ferndale High and Skyline Elementary School in Ferndale. Penny’s favorite activities included walking in the water, riding her Kawasaki Ninja, spending time with her family and friends and being in the mountains. She loved her motorcycle and her cats- those were her babies. She was a free spirit and once drove all the way down to Oregon just to watch the sunrise and drove back home in the same day. Penny was fierce, fearless, passionate, loving, loyal traditional and hilarious. She will most definitely be missed. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Penny Lee Green, Francis L Jefferson, Jr, Joseph W. “Bill” Ballew, Frederick and Kathrine G. Jack, Francis L Jefferson Sr. and Norma Underwood Jefferson; nephew William Anthony Ballew Torres;, and niece Laylani Mae Jefferson-Solomon.. Penny is survived by her parents Francis and Shelley Jefferson; sisters Lilliana and Camille Jefferson; brothers Alex Davis and Shae (Amanda) Hughes; nieces Ueli and Aylie Hughes; nephew Eian Davis; grandparents Lillian Marie Ballew, and Rick and Nancy Green; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A prayer service will be held Thursday, May 23, at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, at 10:00am. Both services will be held at the Wexliem Community Building.
