Obituary
Whidbey has lost a wonderful man. Kent Hodges passed away peacefully at home on January 2nd, surrounded by his family. He had a life well-lived and loved, married to his Ballard High sweetheart, Diane (King) Hodges. Together they were proud parents of two sons, Bob & Casey (Kimberly) who made him ‘Papa’ to his Grandchildren, Samantha (Brayden), Brayden, Lilly, Ryan, and great-granddaughter, Vera Mae. Along with dearest extended family and friends, his warm smile, calming presence, and big hugs will be sorely missed. At his request, a private ceremony will be held. Kent was the best friend I could have had for the majority of my life as is Susie to Diane for 56+ years. We raised our kids with theirs having many adventures when they lived in Bothell as well as on Whidbey. Kent made a great Santa at their annual Christmas party to our kids and many others over the years. He even played Santa at Diane and Susie’s Red Hat luncheons. We shared many adventures over the years including camping, fishing, boating, 4th of July stay overs, so we could see the best fireworks. We shared many house parties and stayovers at their Whidbey home after our kids were grown. He was the Best Fishing Buddy, ever. Kent was the kindest and nicest person I’ve known. He will be greatly missed. He had a wonderful life and shared it with others. Love you Buddy.
