Obituary

Joan Adel Milburn peacefully said goodbye to family and friends August 13th, 2017. Joan was born on March 30th, 1931 in Fargo N.D. to Agnes and Edward Larson. In 1954 Joan married Elbert “Al” Milburn and with teaching certificates from Moorhead State Teachers College in hand they headed west. In 1962 they settled in Bellingham’s south side where they raised two daughters, Laura and Julia, who survive them.

Joan loved music, reading, gift shopping, practicing yoga, and volunteering with the Literacy Council. She was generous with praise and had a keen sense of humor, laughing through unexpected events and challenging situations.
