Obituary

James A. Heidingsfelder joined his high school sweetheart, Olive, the love of his life, on October 25, 2017. He enriched our lives with his unconditional love and his appreciation of nature and the outdoors.

Jim was born and raised in Bellingham. After serving in the Navy, he returned home and built the family home on 32nd Street where they lived for 65 years. He retired from Blythe Plumbing and Heating after 40 years. His last job was Foreman at Semiahmoo Construction. Jim and Olive were lifelong members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Preceding Jim in death are his parents, George and Margarette (Billmeyer); sisters, Barbara and Margarette; loving wife, Olive; sisters-in-law, Arlene Holeman and Pearl Hickok; infant daughter, Marla; sons, Jim and Jeff; and grandsons, Jerrod Fadden and Dave Nelson.

Survivors include his son, Jeri; daughters, Jana and LeaAnn (Rod) Fadden; grandchildren, Nathan (Kate) Fadden, Marla (Mike) Hansen, Jeff and Jodi’s children, Carli (Kyle) Thon, Jeff Heidingsfelder (who just bought the family home, we are all so proud); and great-grandchildren, Riley and Beckett Fadden, Regan Hansen, and Olive Thon.

Many thanks to all of Papa Jim’s caregivers, the love and care he received was so appreciated.

At his request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to your favorite charity.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. I was privileged to visit him frequently at the various homes he has been at during the past few years, and will miss him. We have been friends ever since high school as he married my life long friend Olive. He was a wonderful friend. May God’s peace be with you.
