Our beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend James “Jim” Weimer passed away on May 14th in Bellingham, WA at the age of 79 after a battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on December 6, 1943. He graduated from High School in Pueblo, Colorado and went on to serve with the Airforce in Germany for 4 years.

Upon completion of the Airforce, Jim travelled to Seattle, Washington to join his brother Gene. There he met Rosemary Tyo and they were married July 19, 1969 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church on Mercer Island. Jim and Rosemary settled in Kirkland, WA to raise their daughter Kristin. As a father and husband, Jim was forever committed, supportive and always proud of his family and their endeavors.

Jim had a career in the maritime industry that spanned over four decades. Jim was a General Manager at both Sea Land Shipping Services and American President Lines in Seattle from 1970 to 1987. He worked and lived with his family in Asia from 1983-1987. Jim was an Owner and General Manager at Pacific Coast Maritime from 1987-1998. He was a consultant for Harley Marine Services from 2000-2012. After retiring, Jim and his wife relocated to Bellingham, WA to be with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. He loved to travel, drink fine wine, garden and attend any, and all events that his grandchildren were involved in. Jim was dearly loved, and will be forever remembered for his kindness, organization, intelligence, resilient nature, and honorable spirit. He truly believed the best in everyone he met.

Jim is survived by his wife Rosemary Weimer, Daughter Kristin (Joe) Cleary
