Glen Henry Lane

Resident of Bellingham Glen Henry Lane born July 6, 1929 to Sadie Celestine and Alfred Lane and took his journey home peacefully in his sleep the same day as his wife Yvonne 8 years later on Jan 6, 2014. Glen had many jobs when he was young he starting out selling lemonade, shearing sheep, picking apples in the orchard, logging, and commercial fishing. As he got older and was now married he moved to Oakland, CA with the relocation program and worked in a tool-manufacturing company. He moved back to Lummi and still continued working many jobs just to name a few: skippered a herring tender boat, served one term on tribal council, and before retiring worked as a custodian for the tribal health clinic. After retiring he enjoyed playing bingo, slots and blackjack. He also loved to travel. Glen was a thinkeralways thinking. You always knew when he started getting a new idea, he would be standing there quiet and all of a sudden you would hear the change in his pocket start to jingle around. J He was a very intellectual and innovative man who always was thinking of all kinds of ways to make money or invent new things that would make life easier. He loved to read. He read books on ways to prosper and ways to save money and if it wasn’t on wealth and success it was on self-improvement. He wanted to be the best he could be and always told his children and grandchildren they need to be educated so they can ALWAYS BE ONE STEP AHEAD! He was deeply loved by his family and loved his family with all he had by working hard, sharing his knowledge and sometimes just with a slight smile and not saying a word. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Yvonne (LaClair)Lane; son, Larry Lane; sisters, Ruth (Lane)Boome, Francis(Fran) James, and Bertha Lane. He is survived by his sisters, Ernestine Gensaw, Rena Ballew, Beverly(Jack) Cagey; daughter, Trena LaClair-Lane; sons, Alfred and Steven Lane; adoptee children Martin John, Charles Miller, and Wilma Goggles; Grandchildren Melissa(Johnny) Felix, Glenda John, Phillip John, Matthew Lane, Scott Lane, Marie Lane, and Luke Lane; Great-Grandchildren Aleasah John, Kaitlyn Felix, Sabryn Tom, Cadence John, Mariana Felix, Beau Felix, Syera Bill, Carmyn Felix, Jenessa Lane, and Ethan Lane. Farewell Tribute Information A prayer service will be Thursday, January 9, at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, January 10, at 10:00 AM. Both services will be at the Wexliem Community Building.
