Craig Allen Hutchinson Obituary

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we let you all know that my husband and our dad, Craig Allen Hutchinson, aged 63 passed away on Thursday March 21, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham Washington.  He was born on November 18, 1960, in China Lake California to Norma Jean Jones and Edwon Samuel Hutchinson.

Craig is survived by his wife, Donna Morris Hutchinson and his children, Chris and Sara Hutchinson as well as his grandchildren James and Amelia Hutchinson. He is also survived by his parents and sister.

Craig entered the United States Army in the June of 1979 after 3 years he took a break in service and rejoined in November 1986. He served a combined 16 years and showed great dedication to his country. During his service he was awarded: Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (2), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (5), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Humanitarian Service Medal (2), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3), Army Lapel Button, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudia Arabia), Expert Badge Rifle, Air Assault Badge, Basic Recruiter Badge with 3 Gold Achievement Stars. He was honorably discharged in August of 2000.

Craig had a unique sense of humor and a vivid imagination. He was a tenacious man both in his professional life and his personal life. In his grandchildren’s eyes he was kind, funny, bold and brave. He loved history and collected a small library of historical books throughout his life. He was an important part of our family, and we miss him dearly.
