Carol Anne Forsyth

Carol Anne (Crosslin) Forsyth passed away in the loving company of family on March 22, 2013. She was 75 years old. After a long battle with Auto Immune diseases, she succumbed to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Carol Anne was born in Bellingham, Washington January 2, 1938 to Lee and Gladys Crosslin. She lived in Bellingham for most of her life, attending several intermediate schools in Bellingham and graduating with honors from Bellingham High School in 1956. Growing up she was involved in dancing and roller skating and was nationally ranked in figures. As a child she entertained at USO Clubs throughout Washington State, bringing the house down with her songs and cute dances. Carol Anne was a high school cheerleader, loved arts, crafts, tennis, the outdoors and fishing. Carol Anne’s occupations included a Stock & Bond Brokerage in Seattle, and as a buyer for a clothing store in Bellingham. She was a loving member of the community: she served on a task force to help needy children and families, organized fundraising fashion shows for the March of Dimes and the Heart Fund, was a devoted member of St. James Presbyterian Church, and St. Zita Guild of St. Joseph Hospital. Carol Anne married Ron Forsyth September 12, 1981. They pursued many adventures together. She loved sports and was a full-fledged fan of the Huskies, Mariners and Seahawks. Carol’s cooking brought joy to many. She loved entertaining, creating new recipes and testing them on husband Ron. Twice Sunset Magazine awarded her “Chef of the West” for her original recipe contributions. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and included hand-made wrapping paper, 10 foot trees and thousands of white lights to brighten the home that she helped design. Above all Carol Anne loved spending time with her family and watching them grow. She was an adventurous grandmother. Some of her favorite experiences included family times at the Lake Whatcom “cabin,” hang gliding over Lake Whatcom and extended Palm Dessert vacations in the sun and pool. She was also a thoughtful friend, always remembering birthdays and special occasions with a card or gift. Carol was always a surprise, always fun and a joy! She was preceded in death by Lee Crosslin (father), Gladys Crosslin (mother), Jack Crosslin, Sr. (brother), Evelyn Crosslin (sister-in-law), Dianne Crosslin (niece-in-Iaw), and Kaycee Crosslin (grand-niece). Carol Anne is survived by husband Ron Forsyth, son Jeff Frere (wife Sara), grandsons Carter and Dawson Frere and Andrew Wesley; son Chris Frere (wife Kelly); granddaughter Bailee and grandson Brooks Frere; step daughters Ronelle Christenson (husband Roy) and Krista Forsyth Fisher (husband Scott); step grandchildren Tasha Bunch, Leyna Tracy, Andrea Bigham, Elliot, Ethan and Sydney Fisher; nephew Jack Crosslin, Jr., nieces Cathy Crosslin and Carly Crosslin Nichols (husband Marcus); great granddaughters Rielly, Carin and Sadie; and many very close friends. Service will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Baker Creek Place, 1650 Baker Creek Place, Bellingham. Memorials may be made in Carol’s name to Whatcom County Hospice.
