Obituary

Resident of Ferndale

Betty Engler went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. She was 90, born June 26, 1923 in Lynden, WA to Cornelius and Sadie (Heeringa) Radder.

Betty married Erwin Engler on February 18, 1944 in Lynden, WA. They were happily married for sixty-two years. Betty was content to be a full time wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed flowers, shopping and all her grand and great grandchildren. Betty was blessed with the gift of hospitality and loved serving others. She loved being around her family and friends, especially at coffee time, and always made sure there was a chair at the table and a homemade goodie to snack on for everyone.

Betty is survived by her children, Darlene (Rod) Erickson, Donna Engler, Sharon (Dan) Turner, Larry (Debbie) Engler; grandchildren, Kevin (Robin) Erickson, Kent (Lisa) Erickson, Andrea (Bryan) Cox, Rachel (Rob) Taylor, Josh Engler, Joe (Calissa) Engler, Ashley (Gordon) Bullivant; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Andy, and Michael Erickson, Kyle and Ryan Erickson, Carter and Elliott Cox, Payton and Landon Taylor, Tyler, Kayla and Dylan Bullivant, Siena Engler; brother, Clayton (Bob) Radder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of Betty’s caregivers.

Farewell Tribute Information

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 26, at 1:00 pm, at Whatcom New Life Assembly in Ferndale, with Pastor Andy Fox officiating. Donations Information

  1. Sending my love and thoughts to the family. I have such special memories of Betty with my Mom. Many good times they shared while they worked out the world’s troubles and giggled while they shopped and shopped. I am so thankful we were able to visit with her and the family this past September.
