Michelle Marie (Hayes) Warwick

Michelle (Hayes) Warwick, a beautiful mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and coworker, passed away the morning of May 11, 2024, after an 8-month long battle with pancreatic cancer and many rounds of debilitating chemo. She was born on November 26, 1974, to Don and Linda Hayes and raised on Lummi Island, was a Beach School graduate, along with Ferndale High School class of 1993, studied briefly at Whatcom Community College before heading off to Alaska to work one summer in a fish cannery and then decided to go to travel school. Completing that, she worked as a 911 dispatcher and then went into banking at Bank of the Pacific where she became a branch manager. She married fellow Beach School student, and love of her life, Gene Warwick, in 2001. They made Bellingham their home and raised their children. They celebrated 23 years of marriage this May. They knew each other for over 40 years and were together for 28. She enjoyed cheering on the Seahawks, camping, boating, traveling, her favorite flowers were tulips and she loved flamingos because it reminded her of her wedding day, but family was always the most important to her. Michelle is survived by her loving husband – Gene Warwick, children – Colten (girlfriend Arionna Hayes) and Chloe, step-son – Brett, parents – Linda & Don Hayes, sister – Laura (Jay) Stephen, niece Kylee & nephew Gavin, aunt – Carla Lange, cousin – Nick Lange, uncle – Pat (Violet) Martinson, mother-in-law – Trang Quick, sister-in-law – Mary (Archie) Jorgenson, nephew Christian (Kayla) Kinley, great nephew – Hudson & great niece – Juniper. She is preceded in death by her grandparents – Dale & Ella Martinson, Carl & Donna Hayes, uncle – LeRoy Lange, father-in-law – Tom Warwick, brother-in-law – Peter Warwick, friend – Scot Culbertson. The family would like to thank all the medical staff and nurses at Fred Hutch and Bellingham Hospice for their care and support these last 8 months and during the final days. Also, all of the people who have so graciously supported the family through the GoFundMe and in other ways. Thank you.
