Kenzie Justine Ely

Kenzie J. Ely, 28 of Sedro Woolley, WA passed away April 29th, 2021 from Covid-19 related illness at UW Medical Center in Seattle. She was pregnant with her second child as illness took hold, a few days prior to her passing Cody Jr. was delivered by c-section. Kenzie was born in Arlington on July 12th, 1992 to proud mother Kristina Bounds, and father, Craig McIntyre. Later, stepdad Curtis Andrews came into her life. She had spent about half her life living in Marysville attending Lakewood Elementary and Marysville Middle school where she met a few of her lifelong friends. A move to Burlington, WA put her into Burlington Edison Highschool. In school she tried to follow her passions with the classes that she chose. Her love of singing and dance drew her to Drama class. She loved being in plays and memorizing lines and wanted to someday be in a musical TV show or movie. Horticulture class is where she learned about her love for plants and how to care for them. Her favorite subjects were History and Language Arts. High School science class is also the place where she met her future husband. During her Senior year she became pregnant with her first child, she delivered in July of 2010 and went back to finish up school the following year while raising her young infant. Spring and summer were her favorite seasons. Sitting in the green grass, exploring nature as a whole and helping to support the eco-systems. Looking at all the blooming flowers and waiting for hers to bloom. She cared so much for the world that was all around us, the living world that helps to support us. Any chance that she could she would go out and enjoy the world at its full bloom. The sun was her friend, and she would spend as many hours in it as she could. If she was ever in a bad mood she went outside to enjoy the weather, all of her negative energy would fade away and she would surround herself in the rays. This also gave her the passion for plants and growing food. She cared a lot for her plants and wanted the best for them. Kenzie was so creative in everything that she did. Arts and crafts, she would spend hours with little projects making sure everything was the way she wanted. Charcoal drawing is something that really called out to her in her younger years and throughout her life. Everything she did led into a new hobby for her to try out, and she loved trying everything. She took on wood burning and fell in love with it. Having her husband cut out pieces for her to burn so her projects could take shape, she loved experimenting with different shading in the wood and expanded to different colors being added. Her craft area was set up as her happy place and had plans on extending it to a small business. Her other love was crocheting, she would spend hours on creative yarn projects watching them grow as she went, modifying patterns and looking for new ideas. Her passions went above and beyond the everyday person’s. She had a deep care for the oceans – looking at ways to clean them and help out in any way she could for the life living there. Orcas were her favorite. She would draw them and had many trinkets that were displayed so she could always look at them. They were her freedom and she followed her J pod very closely and would always speak up for their protection. Kenzie is survived by her husband, Cody Ely Sr., daughter, Aaliayh Ely; son, Cody Jr. whom she had been blessed with just a few days before her passing; grandmother, Angela Sloan; mother, Kristina Bottenberg (Bounds); and sisters, Kayana Andrews and Kendal Andrews. With a heart full of love for her family, she loved being a mother to her baby girl, her pets, and her plants. She had her daughter at such a young age, Kenzie grew up with Aaliayah and husband, Cody, by her side. She centered around her family and close friends. There are never enough words to describe how she felt towards others and how she wanted everyone to feel about each other. She was truly an amazing individual with more compassion, and empathy towards the living than she could push into the universe. Her free spirit attitude followed her from birth to the day she passed. If she had it in her head, she would find a way to make it happen. Kenzie’s soul has touched more lives than she could ever imagine, may she return to the earth to be reborn to nature, swim in the sea, and watch us from the sun and moon. She was the person that would take time and lend an ear for those in need of a reach, that had no one else to turn to. She could feel their pain and did everything she could to help, even if that meant not helping herself. She was strong, bold, and would speak out for those in need.
