Gregory Alan Dibble

Gregory Alan Dibble passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, surrounded by family and the love of those closest to him. He lived a long, adventurous, and deeply fulfilling life. Greg was born in Portland, Oregon, to Alan and Hazel Dibble and grew up in Longview, Washington. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington State University, Greg devoted his career to improving the buildings, roads, and infrastructure of western Washington, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he served. Bellingham was his home for the last 56 years. He maintained a life-long passion for flying (first solo flight at age 17) and generously shared flights and perspectives from breathtaking altitudes all over the western US. Throughout his life, he embraced new challenges, completed 12 marathons, pursued real estate ventures, and inspired younger generations with his insights, humor, and banter. Greg also loved to travel and explore. Family and friends remember adventures to Mount St. Helens, the San Juan Islands, South Texas, Hawaii, and countless destinations reached by RV or plane. Greg rarely chose the most direct route, preferring scenic roads and unexpected discoveries along the way. He also enjoyed biking, plinking, and spending time outdoors. Some of the memories his family treasures most are the simple ones: mixing up new flavors of milkshakes, daily conversations and banter, and exploring new places together. Whether biking through Coupeville or Lopez Island, celebrating birthdays in South Padre Island, or traveling in his RV, Greg enjoyed sharing experiences with the people he cared about. Greg will be remembered as a kind, smart, and generous man whose passion, boldness, and value of self-reliance left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He enjoyed discussing politics, debating ideas, telling stories, and connecting with people. He had strong opinions, a quick mind, and a lifelong curiosity about the world around him. Greg is survived by his wife of 33 years, Reo Lanham; his former wife, Esther; and the five children of his blended family: Lynne, Carr, Kelly, Dean, and Robb. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nick, Kyla, Kari, Laura, Julien, Tiger, Caracal, and Mason; great-grandchildren Bree, Sadie, and Fiona; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Alan and Hazel Dibble; his brothers, Keith and Bruce; his daughter, Holly; and his granddaughter, Daniela. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bellingham. Burial will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale. Greg will be remembered for his love of flying, his enjoyment of the open road, the adventures he shared with family and friends, and the many conversations that brought people together. For his final flight, we wish him clear skies and calm weather ahead.
