David A. Parker

David A. Parker, age 87, passed into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on January 30, 2013 surrounded by his children. Dave was born June 1, 1925 to Charles and Dorothy Parker. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly; daughter in-law Marilyn Parker; grandson Jason Parker; and brothers Richard and Philip Parker. Dave is survived by sons, Michael of Everson, Tim and wife Martha of Auburn, Ted and wife Julie of Sedro Wooley, Jerry and wife Becky of Mt. Vernon; daughter Necia Amos of Lynden; sisters Shirley and husband Charles Monthy of Tacoma, Philis and husband Paul Beran of Juneau, Alaska; sister in-laws, Garnet (Beyer) Parker of Laurel, Ruby (Olsen) Parker of Lynden, Hazel (Sturgis) OmIi of Puyallup and Evelyn (Omli) Bauer of Bellingham; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Dave along with his wife Beverly farmed on 50 acres on the Ten Mile Road. It was here where Dave found his greatest pleasure being a dairy farmer, working the land and raising his family. Dave was a simple yet compassionate man of few words. He loved his family, tried to always find the good in others. Dave had an open door policy, there was always room for one more at the dinner table. He was hard working and welcomed his children’s friends into his home. Dave didn’t say much but he was a listener and when he did speak it was after some thought. Dave attributed his long and happy life to his good German genes his ability to praise God not just in times of need and sorrow but also during good and plentiful times. Dave broke his hip in November of 2012 and his health steadily declined. He loved his family well and they will miss him and his stories. We are very thankful for the loving staff at the Christian Health Care Center for the exceptional care rendered to our father. Dad’s absence will be felt heavily, however we know he is no longer in pain and we take heart in knowing he is with those who passed before him. As per his wishes, no services will be held at this time. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Dave’s name to the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden. Please view the memorial and sign the online guest book.
