Obituary

Zachary Brian Nielsen, Beloved Son and Friend

It is with unimaginable sorrow that we announce the passing of Zachary “Zach” Nielsen, who left this world far too soon at the age of 18. Born on July 26, 2006, and passed away on February 24, 2025, Zach was a beloved son, teammate, and friend whose bright spirit and adventurous heart left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

A proud athlete, Zach was a dedicated member of his high school football team, where he played with passion, strength, and an unbreakable team spirit. Beyond the field, he embraced life to the fullest, always chasing adventure. He loved riding ATV’s, shooting hoops, kayaking and spending time with his beloved dog, Dingo. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed skateboarding, playing tennis, salmon fishing, crabbing, and the thrill of skydiving. Whether on the water or in the sky, Zach was always seeking new experiences, making memories, and sharing laughter with those he loved.

Zach’s kindness, humor, and fierce love for his family and friends will never be forgotten. His loyalty knew no bounds, and he was always the first to offer a helping hand, a reassuring presence, or a good-natured joke. Though his time with us was far too brief, his impact will be felt forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his loving parents, Christi Nielsen and Dave (Kristen) Nielsen; grandparents Shelley Strawn and Victor Bruce, Charlie Nielsen and Karlene Nordensson, Linda and Bob Hathaway; his step-brothers Kaden, Colin and Jack Reabe; aunts Kelli (Stevie) Stone and Nicole Nielsen; uncles Lance (Lauren) Raglin, Lanny Stratton and Seth Bruce; nephews Carter and Donavan LeDoux; his cherished dog Dingo and friends and family who will forever carry his memory forward.

A Celebration of Zach’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:00 am at Moles Farewell Tributes, 2465 Lakeway Drive, Bellingham, WA 98229 where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the incredible young man he was.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Zach’s memory to Ferndale Youth Sports.

Rest easy, Zach. You will always be loved, always missed, and never forgotten.
