Obituary

Yuee Wen passed away suddenly on 4/29/2020 at the age of 81. Her husband, siblings, children, and grandchildren have been left with a profound and unimagined sense of loss.  She loved and was loved.

Yuee was, like her mother before her, a strong woman who guided her family through very difficult times. She earned a college degree in mathematics (also excelling in 400 and 800 meter track) and was a high school principal for many years in Xian, China. In that capacity, she cared for parents and students alike.

Later in life she (and her husband) lived in the U.S. caring for her grandchildren with a warm grandmotherly presence that belied the reservoir of personal strengths she possessed. She took great pride in the high levels of professional accomplishment and education attained by her children and grandchildren.

From humble beginnings she and her husband rose to occupy respected managerial positions in China and in ‘retirement’ travelled across the world, continuing to influence and guide their newest generation.

It is not humanly possible to express the depth of feelings, love, and loss felt by her family and friends.

Today, memories of our mother can trigger a flood of tears, so we are looking forward to the time when the tears have passed and we are able to cherish and savor all memories of her. We know that those memories are the perfect tribute to her life. A life that was noble, beautiful, and wonderfully lived.
