Obituary

Warren C. Metcalf was born in Seattle on January 12, 1931, and passed away in Bellingham on June 11, 2017.

Warren was born to Clarence and Bonnie Metcalf. He attended school in Bellingham, and graduated from Bellingham HS in 1949. He also studied at the University of Washington. Warren served in the U.S. Navy on a fleet oiler, during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Darlene Burnham, on June 18, 1954. They were married almost 61 years, until Darlene passed away two years ago. Our dad loved his family, camping, being outdoors, visiting friends, and good food. Babies and puppies could always bring a smile to his face. He worked at AmFab as a young man until the plant closed. He worked for the City of Bellingham’s Street Department until he retired.

Warren leaves behind children Cindy (Lou) Geri, Tammy (Craig) Forhan and Dan (Sue) Metcalf; grandchildren Mickie (Steve) Farris, Melissa (Harrison) Jenkins, Katy Geri, Sam Forhan, Alex Forhan, Hunter Metcalf and Kelsey Metcalf; great-grandchildren Owen Farris, Riley Jenkins, Luke Farris and Rex Jenkins; cousins Bob Auer, Marilynn Wight, Jan Martinsen, D’Linda Laird, Ron Richardson, Larry Richardson, and Don Richardson.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene, and his sister Edith June Metcalf.

There will be a celebration of Warren’s life on Sunday August 27, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at 4445 Dewey Rd. in Bellingham. Donations in Warren’s memory can be made to Blue Skies for Children – 2505 Cedarwood Ave. #5 Bellingham, WA 98225.
