Obituary
Walter A. Roder, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was married to Valerie D. Lind (Recor), and they shared many beautiful moments together, including Walter singing to her and holding her hand.
Walter was a very good and avid bowler for years, and was even in the Whatcom County Bowling Association Hall-Of-Fame. He played guitar in many bands across Whatcom and Skagit county. He worked at the Federal Communications Commission for 40 years. He will be remembered for his quiet nature, patience, and warm smile.
Walter is survived by his wife Valerie, daughter Marilyn Roder, and granddaughter Brianna Perry. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven W. Roder.
Walter will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Moles Farewell Tributes – Greenacres, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA, on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at 10 am. All who knew and loved him are welcome.
